Notes in orders

Let customers add a note to their order, allergies, spice level, 'ring the top bell', and see it with every order.

Sometimes customers need to tell you something that doesn't fit in the menu: an allergy, extra spicy, no onions, or where exactly to leave the delivery. Order notes give them a place for it, so requests arrive written down instead of as a phone call mid-rush.

Enabling order notes

  • Open your restaurant settings page.
  • Edit the delivery options.
  • Turn on 'Client notes' and save.

Prefer not to receive notes? Leave the toggle off and the note field simply doesn't appear at checkout.

What customers see

With notes enabled, the checkout page shows an optional Note field where customers can add a message to their order. It's never required, customers who have nothing to add just skip it.

Where you see the note

  • On the orders page, the order details show a 'Note from Customer' section.
  • On printed order tickets, so the kitchen sees the request too.

Good practice

Read the note before accepting the order. If a request is something you can't do, reject the order with a custom reason explaining why, the customer sees it immediately and can order again.
