Push notifications, email notifications and the sound alarm

Three ways to make sure you never miss an order, and how to turn each of them on or off.

A missed order is a lost customer. Restanaut can alert you about new orders in three independent ways, use any combination that fits how you work.

Push notifications

Push notifications appear on your phone, tablet or computer even when the orders page isn't open.

  • Open the orders page on the device where you want notifications.
  • When the install bar appears, tap Install to add the Restanaut app to your device. It's a lightweight app installed straight from the browser, no app store needed.
  • Allow notifications when your browser asks for permission.

From then on, every new order triggers a notification on that device. Repeat the setup on each device that should be alerted. If you dismissed the browser permission prompt, enable notifications for the site in your browser settings.

Email notifications

You can receive an email every time a new order is placed.

  • Open your restaurant settings and edit the delivery options.
  • Turn on 'Email notifications for new orders' and save.

The setting is personal, each team member controls email notifications for their own account, so the manager can get emails while kitchen staff rely on the sound alarm.

Sound alarm

When the orders page is open, it can play a sound whenever a new order arrives, ideal for a tablet at the counter.

  • Open the orders page.
  • Use the sound alarm button in the toolbar to switch the sound on or off.

The icon shows the current state. The setting is remembered per device, so muting the browser on your phone won't silence the tablet at the counter.

Our recommendation

Keep the orders page open with the sound alarm on wherever orders are handled, install the app with push notifications on the owner's and manager's phones, and enable email notifications as a written backup trail.
