Creating your menu

Build your menu from scratch or import it automatically from photos or a PDF, with categories, dishes, sizes and fees.

Your menu is the heart of your restaurant page, it's what customers browse and order from. The menu creator lets you build it two ways: automatically from your existing menu, or manually item by item.

Create your menu from photos or PDF

The fastest way to get started, especially if you already have a printed menu:

  • In the menu editor, choose 'Create from photos'.
  • Drop in photos of your menu or a PDF file, or click to browse for them.
  • Press 'Create Now'. Restanaut reads your menu and builds categories, dishes, descriptions and prices automatically. Generation can take up to 15 minutes.
  • Review the result and adjust anything you like in the manual editor.

Build or edit your menu manually

The manual editor organizes your menu into categories, each containing dishes:

  • Categories, for example Starters, Pizza, Drinks, each with an optional description.
  • Dishes, each with a name, an optional description, and one or more sizes with prices.
  • Sizes, offer the same dish as Small, Medium or Large with different prices.
  • Fees, add fixed or percentage fees to dishes or whole categories, and limit them to specific delivery methods, for example a packaging fee that applies only to delivery and pick-up.

You can reorder categories and dishes, and mark items as temporarily unavailable when you run out.

Where your menu appears

Once saved, the menu is instantly live on your restaurant page, where customers browse and order from it. The same menu powers your QR code menu and the printable menu.

Updating the menu later

Open the Menu page of your restaurant and press Edit. Changes go live the moment you save, no reprinting, no waiting.
