Marking items as temporarily unavailable

Ran out of a dish? Hide it from ordering in seconds and bring it back just as fast, without deleting anything.

When you run out of an ingredient or a dish, you don't need to delete it from your menu. Mark it as unavailable instead, customers can't order it, but all its details stay in place for when it's back.

Marking a dish as unavailable

  • Open the Menu page of your restaurant and press Edit.
  • Find the dish and open its options menu.
  • Choose 'Mark unavailable'. The dish is labeled with an unavailable pill in the editor.
  • Save the menu, the change is live immediately.

Marking a whole category as unavailable

You can mark an entire category the same way, useful when the pizza oven breaks down or the lunch menu ends for the day. Open the category's options menu, choose 'Mark unavailable' and save.

What customers see

Unavailable items can't be ordered from your restaurant page. If a customer had an unavailable item in their basket, they're asked to remove it before placing the order, so you'll never receive an order you can't fulfill.

Making items available again

When the dish is back, open the menu editor again, remove the unavailable mark from the item or category, and save. It reappears on your page instantly, no retyping, no lost descriptions or prices.
