Printing orders on receipt tape and A4

Print kitchen tickets for incoming orders, on a thermal receipt printer or a regular A4 printer.

A printed ticket is still the most reliable way to get an order to the kitchen. Every order in Restanaut can be printed with a single click, and the printout automatically adapts to the paper you use.

How to print an order

  • Open the orders page and select the order.
  • Press the print button in the order's toolbar.
  • A print-ready view of the order opens and the print dialog appears automatically, choose your printer and print.

What's on the printout

  • Order number, date and time.
  • Delivery method, table number for eat-in orders, or the full delivery address including floor and unit number.
  • The customer's name and phone number.
  • Every dish with its size, extras, quantity and price, plus subtotal, delivery cost and total.
  • The customer's note, if they added one.

Receipt tape and A4, one layout for both

The print layout detects the paper width. On narrow thermal tape, the common 58mm and 80mm receipt rolls, content stacks into a compact ticket. On A4 or letter paper, it spreads out with the footer at the bottom of the page. You don't have to configure anything, just print to whichever printer you have.

Tips

  • Thermal receipt printers with a system printer driver work out of the box, if you can print a web page to it, you can print orders to it.
  • In the print dialog, set margins to none or minimal for the cleanest ticket on tape.
  • On the Business plan you can remove restanaut.com from printouts in your restaurant's general settings.
